As one of my fitness besties said, "This industry is a burning dumpster fire." There's no regulation. There's no validation. You have to pay for everything you need-- certificates, licenses, supplies, vehicle gas and parking to get between classes. You're constantly told that you're not good enough-- that you need to "re-certify." But how will you pay for it? How do you ask for a raise? Who is your boss, anyway!? You're moving ALL THE TIME and don't have healthcare. How can you get it? I can help you.
And what about your students? Someone's going to walk in with a knee issue. Or, some odder malady. They'll want you to diagnose it. Your job is NOT to diagnose. But, you've got to figure out how to move them safely. Or, just NOT make the issue worse. Where do you go for that information? I can help with that.
And what about when you're burnt out? When you don't know if you can wake up at 4:45AM again to make other people move when you just want to lie in bed? Is that what you really want to do? Probably (teaching fitness is, ultimately, a lot of fun). But, still, I'll listen to you. Let's talk about it.
And what about when you want to move abroad, or teach on the beach, or teach people with disabilities, or teach trauma-informed yoga, or work with kids? I've done all of this-- and it's awesome!
I can help you navigate the world of teaching fitness and being your own boss (I don't care if you're an "employee" at that yoga studio-- in this industry, your students make the schedule and you call the shots). Here's my pedigree, in brief:
These experiences equip me with the compassion, background, and experience to assist you in your journey. And, if I am not knowledgeable enough to help you, then I'll know the people who can. #networking
